High blood pressure is the leading global contributor to preventable death with an estimated one in four adults suffering from it. Many of us are aware of the consequences of inadequate treatment of blood pressure such as a heart attack, stroke or kidney damage. These organs are particularly in the line of fire by virtue of the fact that they are critically dependent on a much higher blood flow than others to perform their functions.
