This enables us to focus on high success rates and provide superior care and support to our patients and their families.
At Wellkin Hospital, the following fertility services are provided:
- Intra Uterine Insemination
- In Vitro Fertilization with Intra Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI)
- Cryopreservation of Embryos, Spermatozoa and Eggs
- Frozen embryo transfer
- Semen testing
Intra Uterine Insemination (IUI)
IUI is a technique in which a sperm concentrate, suspended in a nutrient culture media, is inseminated into the uterine cavity bypassing the cervical mucus barrier.
In vitro Fertilisation (IVF)
IVF involves stimulating the ovaries and formation of multiple follicles and eggs. The eggs are removed from the ovaries, fertilized in the laboratory with her partner’s sperm and the resulting embryos are transferred into her uterus.
Intra Cystoplamic Sperm Injection (ICSI)
This is an advanced technique which has revolutionized the treatment of many men who previously had little chance of fathering their own children. The eggs are retrieved in the same way as in IVF but only one spermatozoid is injected directly into the center of the egg. This effectively overcomes the final barrier to fertilization. This procedure is also used in couples in whom previous infertility treatments were not successful.
Cryopreservation of spermatozoa, eggs and embryos
Cryopreservation is a technique by which sperm and embryos are frozen in liquid nitrogen at -196 C. Preserved by this method they are used in case of unsuccessful IVF or for a second child.
Women’s eggs are frozen during their peak fertility years—20s and early 30s. The egg freezing process begins with a consultation with a physician, followed by pre-screening lab work (hormonal lab testing, preconception screening, ovarian and uterine evaluation, etc). You will then receive an outline of the stimulation process.

- In IVF, collecting eggs from the ovary
- Collection and preparation of semen sample
- Embryo transfer
- Pregnancy Testing
- In IUI, preparation of semen sample followed by insemination
